Sandcastle Magic - About the Artist

Isabel Wilson is Sandcastle Magic's glass bead artist and jewelry designer. Born in England, Isabel grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania and spent her summers on the beautiful coast of Maine. A move to tropical Key West, Florida in her twenties renewed Isabel's love of the ocean and beach, which has inspired her artistically and fueled her creativity.

Isabel now makes her home in the colorful seaside town of Santa Cruz, California. This art-loving community spurred Isabel's love affair with glass and she pursued training in the art of glass-blowing and paperweight making at Sundance Art Glass in Mountain View.

Isabel's fascination with fire and molten glass was the impetus for pursuing further education in lampworking, the art of making glass beads using a torch fueled by propane and oxygen. Isabel uses Moretti "soft" glass rods for her glasswork, which offers a wide array of transparent and opaque colors.

Isabel transferred her love of glass into a love of glass bead jewelry and the beautiful result is Sandcastle Magic, a unique and contemporary form of art-glass jewelry.
